Losar Message from Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche

2 Mar 2014

Dear Friends,

The Western New Year has already been and gone, and I know that at that time there is a tradition of making commitments to improve oneself and engage in virtuous acts. Now we are entering the Tibetan New Year of the Wood Horse. As Buddhists we want to make this New Year as good as possible, so we should keep reminding ourselves that we have the power to engage positively, and we should also take commitments to help those in need, as well as to renounce the recurring negativities in the mind. We need to transform these into something positive. This is something we as Buddhists should always do.

I would like to request all the friends and students of Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche and myself - everyone who has been connected with us during the last 47 years - to help us to fulfil Rinpoche's vision. I need your help more than ever before to achieve this. If you believe in the Buddhadharma, then like me you will be quite sure he is still watching over us to support us and to see that we don't let him down. It is our belief that if we are sincere in our trust and engage in positive, virtuous acts, this will help his reincarnation to come swiftly, without obstacles, and with even greater activity than before, to continue his bodhisattva activities in this world at a time when this is so desperately needed.

I remain faithful, strong and positive. We should never be negative and we must remember that the ability to forgive brings quality of life. I am determined to serve Samye Ling, its extended community and whoever depends on us. May I send you all the very best happiness for Tibetan New Year - and please don't forget that you have the right to be a happy and joyful person!

Yours faithfully,
Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche
