Let's Study Sutras!

20 May 2024 - 07 June 2024

Cost: £0.00

Venue: Samye Ling

We are delighted to announce that this year's subject for Khenpo Lekthong's seminar at Samye Ling will be three very important Mahayana Sutras.

The Lotus Sutra  20th-24th May
In this sutra, Lord Buddha encourages us to seek full enlightenment rather than just self-liberation alone.  It is one of the most well-known sutras in East Asian countries.

The Diamond Sutra  27th-31st May
This is one of the oldest sutras on emptiness and in East Asian countries is one of the most well-read sutras on the Perfection of Wisdom.

The Samadhiraja Sutra  3rd-7th June
This sutra is very important for the Middle Way School of Buddhism in general and particularly for the Kagyu lineage as it is considered to be the source of Lord Gampopa’s Sutra Mahamudra teachings.

This course is in three stand-alone sections, each five days long.  Each section will focus on one sutra and Khenpo Lekthong will give the full oral transmission as well as teachings on that sutra.  It is possible to attend one, two or three sections, but each must be attended in full.  Everyone is welcome.

Bookings for this course will open on 20th March 2024.
