Khenpo Ghawang

Khenpo Ghawang is an important Master of the Kagyu Lineage.  Author of many books on Buddhist practices, rituals and philosophical texts, he has taught at Rumtek, His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa’s Monastery in Sikkim, India.  He is currently the principal Abbot of Palchen Choling Monastery in Sikkim, the Seat of the 12th Goshir Gyaltsap Rinpoche.

For more than 30 years, Khenpo Ghawang taught at various monasteries in India and also in Dharma Centres in the USA and Taiwan.  He was the first Khenpo to be invited by Akong Rinpoche to teach in the Shedra (Dharma College) in Dolma Lhakang Monastery in Kham, East Tibet.

Khenpo Ghawang now mainly devotes his time to practice, meditating at holy sites in India and Nepal.
