Losar Mahakala Prayers
For five days before Tibetan New Year, the Sangha have been engaged in intensive Mahakala prayers. The prayers are intended to remove any obstacles or negativity remaining from the old year so we can begin the New Year of the Wood Sheep in the best possible way.
This year for the first time the prayers took place in the new Mahakala Shrine and you can see the Shrine's offering tormas below. Behind them, protected by glass, is the main Mahakala statue and entourage.
The walls are decorated with wood and brocade panels.
Prayers were led by Kating Lama and Tsering Tashi.
