50th Anniversary Celebrations

24 Mar 2017

Double

It is 50 years since Samye Ling was first established in 1967 and we will celebrate with a Guru Rinpoche Drupcho in Samye Ling temple from 21st to 25th August.

The prayers will be particularly dedicated to Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche, who established Samye Ling and guided it from humble beginnings to the large thriving Dharma centre it is today. Over the years countless thousands of people have benefitted from Samye Ling and without Akong Rinpoche that wouldn’t have been possible.  So everyone who feels a connection to Samye Ling is welcome to come to join in these meaningful and powerful prayers – and help to overcome any obstacles for the next 50 years!

The Guru Rinpoche sadhana is available in English phonetics, so anyone who has taken Refuge and received the authorisation (lung) can participate fully.  Even if you can’t read the text, please come and meditate or recite mantras.

Following the Drupcho on Sunday 27th August will be a grand Tea Party and Anniversary Celebration.
