Mindfulness MSc

Samye Ling's Association with the University of Aberdeen's Masters Programme in Mindfulness Studies

Mindfulness is an innate capacity of the mind to be aware of the present moment in a non-judgmental way. It promotes a way of being that helps us to take better care of ourselves and lead healthier lives. It also enables us to access inner resources for coping effectively with stress, difficulty and illness.

This training in mindfulness is entirely secular and is available as a blended learning opportunity, combining e-learning and face to face teaching.

Participants study part-time at a distance while staying in post in their own professional setting. An important part of the programme is that participants develop a daily mindfulness practice.

Tutors from the Mindfulness Association will be making a significant contribution to the teaching of the programme and some of the courses will be hosted at Samye Ling and Holy Isle.

Applications for the new intake are now open. The next intake will commence in September 2013.

For details of how to apply for the programme please contact the programme director, David McMurtry at d.c.mcmurtry@abdn.ac.uk.
